Instruō's íre — Microphone, Instrument and Line Input for Eurorack with Preamp Colour, Envelope Following and Comparator
Instruō íre is an external input module for bringing microphones, instruments and line-level sources into a Eurorack system. The microphone input uses a transformer preamp with phantom power and a -20 dB pad, while the instrument/line inputs run through a FET preamp that can stay clean or add a bit of character, depending on how you gain-stage it.
The useful part is that íre does more than simply make outside signals louder. Its envelope follower and comparator turn incoming audio into modulation and switching signals, so a voice, drum machine, guitar or field recording can also push the rest of the patch around.
A neat bridge between the world outside the case and the one inside it.
