The Moog modular synthesizers, developed in the 1960s by Robert Moog, revolutionized music production with their modular design. For the first time, they enabled flexible sound creation and influenced genres such as electronic and experimental music. Today's 5U modular systems, like those from Moon Modular, resemble these classic systems in design and function. They operate on 15V, are 5U tall, and use 6.35mm jacks. Compared to Eurorack, they are more conventionally designed and offer impressive sound quality for discerning sound designers.
