Zlob Modular Foldiplier — Asymmetrical Wave Folding With Dual Oscillating Feedback Paths
The Foldiplier is inspired by the odd harmonics (middle) section of the Serge Wave Multiplier but also adds voltage-controlled symmetry and dual oscillating feedback paths. It combines wave folding with transistor-based fuzz circuits inspired by the Hemmo Bazz Fuzz. Engage the feedback switch, and your folder becomes an experimental oscillator that generates chaotic textures without any input signal.
The voltage-controlled symmetry section sets this apart from standard folders. Offset acts like a crossfader between positive and negative voltages (+5V to -5V), while Symmetry controls how much offset gets mixed with your signal. Positive voltage creates more folds on positive peaks; negative voltage affects negative troughs. This asymmetrical folding opens up patterns that regular folders aren't capable of.
Its LED windows show fold intensity, offset polarity, and CV activity throughout the panel. Foldiplier works equally well processing external audio or generating its own sounds with the feedback engaged. It offers a plethora of different folding flavors in a cool little module.
