Teia VastWave — Analog Complex Oscillator with Dual-Section Waveshaper
The VastWave is an analog complex oscillator built around a single triangle core. Where most complex oscillators use two oscillator cores — one modulating the other — the VastWave takes a different approach: it packs its harmonic complexity into a two-section waveshaper. The result is a module that manages to get into that rich, evolving territory without needing a second oscillator, and without taking up the panel space that dual-core designs typically need.
The waveshaper itself is split into a Low section (a wavefolder that creates new harmonics from the input signal) and a High section (which crossfades between sets of Odd and Even harmonic waveforms and controls the folder's symmetry). The Order knob blends between the two, and Timbre adjusts the Low section's fold depth while also feeding the fundamental sine into the High section. By default, the internal sine wave is normalized to the waveshaper's input — but patching an external signal into the Timbre jack breaks that normalization, opening the waveshaper up to process other sources entirely. The FM input gets its own dedicated VCA, so FM depth can be modulated independently — useful for self-patching or for shaping FM timbre dynamically with an envelope, for instance.
VastWave approaches complex-oscillator territory from a different angle — one core, a fairly elaborate shaper, and plenty of harmonic movement before you even reach for another module.
