The Boredbrain Music Patchulator v2 is a compact 8-channel desktop patchbay designed for handling audio and CV signals.
Our head starts spinning when we face 8 pairs of ¼-inch send/return connections combined with 8 pairs of 3.5 mm patch points. These TRS connections are capable of carrying stereo or mono signals.
Boredbrain engineered Patchulator v2, as a patchbay for effortless rearrangement of audio effects, switching effects between instruments and quick adjustments to signal pathways. It's the perfect tool to start experimenting with signal routing for guitar pedals, and standalone or modular synthesizers.
Using quarter-inch jacks is as easy as it gets. You connect your effects to different channels and then pick up what you need with mini patch cables. Your pedalboard can become alive with true bypass, real analog, no cable - no signal!
Exploit even more effects by having groups of them on each channel. Imagine a channel of delays, a channel of reverbs, and another of overdrives... Or even better, your favorite combinations of effects easily reachable to you at any moment during a late-night jam. This scenario goes on to the next level by adding a drum machine and synthesizer. Audio signal routing has always been creative, but the Patchulator propels us into a whole new realm of possibilities.
The passive design allows for the integration of control voltages and audio from modular systems. Your CV signal can modulate effects, semi-modular synths, or vice versa. Of course, you need to be aware not to send DC voltage into a pedal, as some of them wouldn’t appreciate this.
