Xaoc Devices Skopje — Dual Quantizer with 10,000 Scale Slots, SCALA Support And Per-Channel VCO Calibration.
Skopje is a dual quantizer with two fully independent channels, each able to process its own CV input using a different scale and bank. The A/D and D/A converters are high-precision, which matters more here than it sounds: a quantizer is only as good as its reading of the voltage coming in and the voltage it puts back out. There's also a small OLED and a Zadar-like interface which make choosing channels, scales and parameters quick without burying the module in sub-sub-sub-menus.
Its scale system is also unusually open. Skopje reads both SCALA files and simple text-based scales from a microSD card, with room for up to a whopping 100 banks of 100 scales each. Different tuning systems can sit alongside one another, scales can be changed by trigger or CV, and transposition may be quantized or left continuous for things such as vibrato. Add glide and voltage-range settings, and the quantizer becomes a useful tool for moving between harmonies, tunings and note sets while a patch is running.
Another nice touch: each channel can be calibrated to a particular VCO. If you've got an oscillator whose 1V/oct tracking drifts a little across the range, Skopje can compensate rather than leaving you to live with it.
Any quantizer will give you a minor scale. This one gives you a hundred banks of whatever you like, switchable on a trigger. Excellent for any fans of microtonality.
