Weston Precision Audio - H1 Analog Harmonizer
- Order number: 230400
- Depth: 25
Fat! The Weston H1 is a digitally controlled, analog dual VCO and muc more: With the H1 you get a harmonizer, quantizer, chord generator - or just (only) a dual VCO for the Eurorack with Devin's ingenious thru0FM.
The Weston Audio H1 has an analysis input (Osc In) from which two reference voltages for the two VCOs can be generated. Coupled to the analysis is an easy to use quantizer that allows you to quickly set intervals or select chords. Convenient: The generated voltages are sent to the respective CV outputs to "stack" further VCOs in your system. A dedicated Trigger output is activated at each quantization jump.
You can then tap the two VCOs individually, each with different waveforms. But there is also the mixer section, where you can mix and saturate the "input signal" (Osc In), as well as all waveforms of the two oscillators. After that you would just need a filter and a VCA behind the H1 and your paraphonic chord monster is ready!
The three modes include the aforementioned main mode, which generates harmonies, a Free mode, which allows you to use H1 as a dual VCO, and Chord mode. In Chord mode there are two different (sub-)modes. One lets you choose the intervals, the other lets you choose preset chords. In addition, there is a somewhat hidden Tune mode to precisely tune your Oscs.
The H1 can be used in many ways depending on the settings. It is is possible to use it as a chord generator, quantizer, frequency doubler/multiplier, drone oscillator, frequency to voltage converter, or tuner. Can you think of anything else...?
