Vaski - ECS4 Triggered Switch
- Order number: 240300

The ECS-4 is yet another solidly built module by Vaski that is more than a utility. But what does this thing actually do?
The module offers two sets of CV-outputs that you select with a trigger or button – see these as two presets for four parameters in your system. You either set the value of the CV-outputs with the knob (-5V to +5V) or you can insert an external signal to each of eight inputs to be routed to the four outputs.
Each time one of channels (A or B) gets a pulse on its Select input, it connects the CV inputs of that channel to the shared CV outputs. This gives you two flavors of each CV output and would for instance allow you to create presets for other modules and switch between different control signals during a performance.
The ECS-4 is great for anyone who wants to add variety to their sounds. By connecting a trigger sequencer to the Select inputs, you can build new melodies from different pitch CV sequences, switching between them smoothly. Another important tidbit is the precision of the ECS-4. If you turn the attenuators all the way open (clockwise), the CV outputs track the inputs very closely. Melodic pitch CVs will then remain in tune when going through the switch!
Another cool feature of the ECS-4 is its expandability. You can connect multiple ECS-4 modules together to create larger CV groups (4, 6, etc.), making it easier to manage more complex setups. This is done through the EXT IN and EXT OUT ports on the back of the modules, allowing you to chain them together. Each additional module will integrate seamlessly, acting as a single switch that routes the CV signals to the outputs of the leftmost module in the chain.
Please take a look at the example videos below which should give you a pretty clear idea how this works — cool concept and perhaps more useful than you might initially think!
Features:
- Two channels (A and B) that can be switched using pulses on the Select inputs
- Can be connected to a trigger sequencer to switch between different pitch CV sequences, or any other signal
- Two CV groups with attenuverters, activated by trigger input or button press
- Four CV outputs
- Trigger (or gate) output jack combining pulses from A and B Select inputs
- Extendable by chaining multiple ECS-4 modules together
- Designed to keep pitch CV signals in tune
