SSL Fusion — Fully Analog Stereo Colour Processor with Vintage Drive, Violet EQ, M/S Imaging and Transformer Saturation
A seriously well-equipped analog stereo processor with five dedicated colour circuits for adding weight, clarity and width to mixes and stems.
Fusion brings together several of SSL's analog processing ideas in a hands-on 2U rack unit. Vintage Drive adds harmonic saturation and gentle compression, while the two-band Violet EQ shapes the low and high frequencies with broad shelving curves. The HF Compressor smooths out brittle top-end, and if you hold its IN button for five seconds, it transforms into a full-band stereo Listen Mic Compressor, complete with wet/dry control. Very handy for giving drums a good squeeze! The Stereo Image section lets you adjust width and space using M/S processing, while a switchable SSL transformer adds further colour and weight. There's also a flexible stereo or M/S insert for integrating other outboard gear. Quite a lot of analog sound-shaping in one box, without having to dive through a single menu. Stellar stuff in other words...!
