Malstrom - Wyvern Stereo Saturation Controller

Malstrom’s Wyvern is a wide range Stereo-Saturator, EQ, Filter, VCA - ideal for end-of-chain duties.

Wyvern is a versatile stereo-tool that puts saturation in the center and pairs it with an array of sound-shaping features. It gives you the means to add warmth and definition through frequency selective saturation. That means you’re able to leave parts of the spectrum unaffected and thus really hone in on the areas of the sound you would like to colour.

Wyvern is in itself a signal chain. Here you will find a Filter EQ, Saturation, VCA, Dual Filter, and Dry/Wet Balance, all in stereo. This design enables a wide range of adjustments and effects, suitable for both individual sources and full (stereo)mixes.

The Filter EQ stage gives you High / Low-Shelf and Bell, and also low-pass, high-pass, and notch filters with gain set to minimum. The Resonance/Emphasis can really scream! The saturation stage comes with three distinct types of saturation: soft clipping, hard clipping, and Allpass distortion, each with their own unique texture. Following the saturation stage, the High / Low-Passs combo alows you to carve out the band you want to emphasize. In conjunction with the balance control you can mix the processed and original signal to taste.
