Melt is a versatile filter and saturation module for Eurorack, packed with features that most filter modules don’t offer.
Melt has a powerful sound-shaping option in its central “Core Temperature” parameter. This asymmetric saturation effect produces wonderful distortion and saturation, which the downstream filter captures and processes. This gives the filter plenty to work with and treats us to the pleasure of an outstanding-sounding filter module.
On the practical side: The module features three audio inputs with individual level controls, as well as one low-pass and one band-pass output each. For frequency modulation, there are two CV inputs with attenuators; FM1 additionally offers a polarity switch, as well as a VCA controlled via AMT1. There are several more VCAs in Melt, which further underlines its versatility. For example, both the LP and BP outputs each have their own VCA, as does the AUX input.
The module’s sound can be significantly influenced by the Core Temperature parameter. In addition, there is switchable resonance compensation and three selectable filter slopes (12/18/24 dB/oct).
