While logic gates were originally used for the implementation of Boolean functions in computation and in electronic devices, this principle is very useful in modular synthesis – which basically is programming an analogue computer with patch cables. The concept of logic gates can be used for many things including the creation of interesting rhythmic patterns or generating harmonics in audio range.
