Fancy Synthesis' Rung Divisions is a polyrhythmic rhythm&sound generator, made up of a Clock Divider, Shift Register with 1-, 3-, 8-bit outputs, two gate buses, and other goodies.
Rung Divisions seamlessly integrates a Universal Shift Register, Clock Divider, two gate buses, analog noise generation, and multiple logic circuits. This multifaceted module opens up a world of creative possibilities, allowing you to create both expected and unexpected rhythmic landscapes.
One of the standout features of the module is its ability to generate complex polyrhythmic compositions OR shape sub-oscillations and textures. Rung Divisions takes clock signals or complex rhythms or audio-rate signals and divides them into seven outputs from /2.../8. These outputs can be used directly: as rather simple rhythm patterns, as accent gates to emphasize your music, or to trigger S&Hs or events in general. The 3-way switches assign the counter outputs to either Bus 1 or Bus 2. The counter outputs are preceded by an OR gate, which is processed with the clock through an AND operation. The result then flows into Bus 1 or 2. Bus 1, in turn, acts as the clock for the Shift Register. So far, so good!?
If you want to input external data, use internal noise, or experiment with data from the dividers or bus, the heart of it all is the Universal Shift Register. The 1-, 3-, and 8-bit stepped CV outputs of the Shift Register are available and are very suitable for self-patching adventures. This allows you to determine, for instance, the direction, length, and probability of loops. The latter all have their own CV-input and help you adding that extra layer of complexity to the patterns.
We believe that while Rung Divisions delve into the nerdy fundamentals of microcontroller operations, it also encourages an intuitive 'just do it' approach. That's what Eurorack is about! By engaging in practical field research, you can discover moments inabstract but organic beat developments that steer you in directions you never thought of before.
