Following the footsteps of its siblings, the Zen Delay and Night Verb, the Echolocator from Erica Synths takes the concept of delay and transforms it into something far more engaging – almost an instrument in its own right.

All the most crucial delay parameters are directly accessible through dedicated controls. The Time control spans from crisp 4ms echoes to expansive 4-second delays with the option to toggle between clean "Tape" delays and character-rich "Dirty" BBD emulations. What makes the Echolocator special is its exceptional playability. The feedback circuit can be driven to self-oscillation without harsh digital clipping. Add Shimmer, widen the sound with the ping-pong effect, alter echo pitch with the Pitch Shifter, or introduce "controlled unpredictability" through its unique Orbit parameter — most of the usual suspects are there, plus a whole little set of extras which you can access through it's OLED display and a data encoder.

A unique stereo delay with an algorithm developed by 112db.com, the Echolocator is a hands-on effect tool that delivers very musical and granular control over small nuances. Featuring 12 parameters for detailed sound sculpting, save/recall functions for all parameters, MIDI control over all parameters and a sleek aluminium case to match Erica Synths' lineup of previous compact desktop units, the Echolocator delivers a really solid performance tool.
