After Later Audio – Typhoon
- Order number: 220144
Typhoon by After Later Audio is an enhanced version of the renowned granular Eurorack effect Clouds.
Typhoon is based on the fantastic Clouds from Mutable Instruments and extends it with many useful features. This module is a granular audio processor. So here incoming audio is chopped up and rearranged. The snippets can be altered in length, texture, density and pitch. In addition to the original Position, Size, Pitch, In Gain, Density, Texture and Blend controls, Typhoon offers even more parameters, all of which are CV controllable. Position controls the sampling position of the sample, while Density stands for the density (number) of grains. Texture changes the character of the grain envelope and morphs from a softening of the transients via diffusor to harder variants.
Typhoon offers a full eight blending modes (Parasites and Kammerl) that process the Grains differently (more on this in a listing below). Unlike the original Clouds, Typhoon offers CV control and pots for all four blend parameters. There are mute buttons for the input and output signal, as well as an internal stereo VCA. In addition, Typhoon offers the possibility to modulate the grain pitch exponentially or linearly.
The blend modes:
Hold Time to toggle between modes, then press Time to cycle through the options (* = lit LED).

After Later Audio are Lenny and Clarissa from Seattle. They build clones of popular Eurorack modules but also have a much more extensive repertoire of self-designed modules for Eurorack systems.
