Two Faces of Fuzz: After Later Audio's FFS
After Later Audio's FFS takes the legendary Fuzz Face circuit and transforms it into a modern dual-channel Eurorack module. One of the things that make this interpretation different is its built-in pickup simulator, bringing genuine guitar pedal behavior to your modular system.
The Gnarly section is raw and aggressive, featuring seven knobs that interact in surprising ways. Dead zones and sweet spots emerge as you adjust the controls, creating everything from subtle harmonics to full-on sonic destruction. Its replaceable transistor pairs let you customize the sound even further.
On the mellower side, the Oomph section provides five controls optimized for bass frequencies. It's the perfect complement to Gnarly's high-end chaos, and both sections can be used independently or mixed together.
The pickup simulator adds another dimension to the module's capabilities, recreating the specific interaction between fuzz circuits and guitar pickup coils – a crucial element of the classic fuzz sound. There's even a dedicated pickup simulator output for connecting to guitar pedals. You can also plug a guitar directly into the pickup simulator output. Important note: Please don't input Eurorack levels into this output! If you're after vintage tones or new unexplored territories of fuzz, this module should deliver in spades.
