Beyond Simple A/B – Xaoc Devices' Zlin 1982 Crossfader/VCA Delivers High-Quality Signal Blending With Ducking, Feedback Control & AUX Tricks. More Utility Than You'd Expect!
Zlin is a compact utility module that functions as a crossfader for audio and CV signals, a linear VCA with drone control, a ducking VCA, or a feedback controller. It's a straightforward tool designed to handle everyday patching tasks — blending two oscillators, swapping between modulation sources, or shaping dynamics without additional processing.
Built around a modern high-quality dual VCA chip and fully DC-coupled, Zlin delivers a wide dynamic range with low noise and distortion. This means it works equally well on modulation signals as it does on audio. Crossfade from a slow LFO to random for movement, swap between two envelopes to A/B dynamics, or construct unusual waveforms through signal blending.
The LED on the slider provides feedback of your mixed signals at a glance. An AUX jack with three selectable functions adds further flexibility for creative patching tricks beyond simple A/B fading. Zlin is a module with more functions than meets the eye, small, clear, and nicely made. Not flashy — useful!
