Vostok Instruments - Atlas

Vostok Atlas is a four-fold morphing multimode filter with interpolating scanner that celebrates the creamy, silky sound of Japanese synth-classics.

The sound of synthesizer legends with the capital R was certainly also founded on the filter design. This fact plays an important role in the Atlas multimode filter, as the OTA circuit, for example, established the fame of devices with the capital J or S(H) from the same company. Modern considerations such as an improved noise level, precise resonance compensation and daisy-chain input for special applications such as parallel filtering were taken into account.
All four filter units have a filter core with 4-pole lowpass, 2-pole highpass and 4-pole bandpass modes and can, for example, generate extremely interesting filter sweeps and resonant patches with different slopes. Keyword resonance: Thanks to precise resonance circuits, all cores generate a clean sine wave and can, for example, produce a marker-shaking sub-bass inferno. When the inputs are excited with fast triggers or gate signals,Atlas can generate the famous drum sounds of the TR series (subdued kicks, striking toms and congas). In addition to FM options per filter unit, the module has a special CV-controlled interpolating scanner circuit that gently morphs the filter outputs and creates shapes and (sound) colors floating back and forth between the channels.
