VG-Line 12-Bit Crusher — 12-Bit Grit from a Soviet-Era Converter Chip, with Distortion, Filtering and Formant-Like Weirdness
VG-Line’s 12-Bit Crusher is a Eurorack bitcrusher built around an old Soviet 12-bit ADC/DAC chip. Bit depth, sampling frequency and waveform can all be adjusted, while the input stage adds sensitivity and bias controls. Depending on the settings, it can move from coarse digital crunch into heavier distortion and more unusual, formant-like effects.
There is also an onboard filter for shaping the processed signal, plus a dry/wet mixer for blending it with the original. Bias, sample rate and filter cutoff can all be voltage controlled as well. All in all, this is quite a flexible bitcrusher with a character all its own.
Features:
- 12-bit Eurorack bitcrusher
- Soviet-era ADC/DAC microcircuit
- Adjustable bit depth
- Variable sampling frequency
- Waveform control
- Input sensitivity and bias controls
- Integrated filter
- Dry/wet mixer
- CV control of bias, sampling frequency and filter cutoff
