Technically speaking Tubbutec Drummertime is a TR-x0x-inspired step sequencer for drums – but it really is one of the nicest uses for the 1U row of your future drum and live performance case
The beautiful drum sequencer focuses on fast, clear and direct operation, with large, clicky buttons that provide immediate tactile feedback—ideal for live performance situations and spontaneous programming.
The sequencer offers 8 drum tracks with analog trigger outputs and MIDI output, making it suitable for modular drums, external drum machines or hybrid setups. Each track can be programmed as part of 16 patterns, with each pattern holding up to 16 steps. Patterns can be combined into songs of up to 32 patterns, opening room for both short loops and more structured arrangements.
Drummertime includes several performance-oriented tools. Tracks can be muted on the fly, tap-recording enables quick input of rhythms, and patterns can be switched during playback without losing sync. For variation beyond the standard 16-step loop, the module provides probability per step, flam and ratchet functions, and multiple playback directions including a “smart random” mode that stays rhythmically coherent.
The module can operate from its internal clock with tap tempo and manual tempo adjustment, or synchronize with external analog or MIDI clock. Drummertime can also serve as the master clock, providing analog and MIDI clock outputs. An adjustable swing control allows the timing feel to be shaped to taste.
