Soma - Cosmos
- Order number: 210163
Cosmos is the looper-turned-yoga mat from Vlad Kreimer's chocolate factory. Incoming audio material runs through various delay lines, which can be additionally modulated or run backwards. Alternatively, incoming audio can be sent through a granular effect. No matter which algorithm you choose, Cosmos will create constantly evolving ambient textures.
A total of four algorithms are available, each with three variations. They each have their own unique method of mixing and shifting sounds. The three variations of each algorithm are based on delay lines of different lengths. In addition, there are other parameters that are directly accessible from the control surface - these include Blur, Drift and Drive. The device is designed as a floor pedal, so you have your hands free to play an instrument or hold a microphone, but the large switches are still smooth enough to operate the Cosmos by hand, which certainly has its appeal.

Manual
Soma is Vlad Kreimer's "romantic engineering" endeavour into musical instrument design. While the Lyra-8 organismic synthesizer and the Ether wide-band receiver have already gained a bunch of adherents, the Pulsar-23 has created an unprecedented expectation.
