Centaur's Gates by Shakmat — dual VCF, LPG & VCA, dual everything!

The Centaur's Gates is not some mythical entrypoint to another world but rather another great module from Shakmat that follows their tried and trusted design choices they have become known for. It features two channels that can act as filters or VCAs. Each channel offers different filter types (low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass) and styles (green for smoother sounds and red for more aggressive tones). You can switch between these types and styles without clicks.

The module can be operated either in serial or parallel routing. It also includes vactrol analog emulation, mimicking the slow response of vintage components for a unique sound character.

Control over inputs and outputs is comprehensive, with adjustable frequency, level, and resonance. At the bottom of the module you’ll find two rows of different CV inputs for most of the modulation options you can think of. There’s also a link function to control both channels simultaneously.

The Select Bus protocol (courtesy of Make Noise) allows digital communication between compatible modules which enables preset management for multiple modules at once, neat!

Centaur's Gates provides a wide range of sonic options. Dual filters, versatile routing, and well thought out controls all with a fully analog signal path makes this into a really nice multimode filter for your rack, don’t sleep on it.
