Robaux's SLØP1 — MIDI Quantizer for Processing, Filtering & Shaping Notes
The Robaux SLØP1 (Slice of Pie) is a compact MIDI processor built around a circular keyboard interface. Instead of traditional menus, you select notes using twelve buttons arranged in a wheel, with LEDs showing which notes are active. This visual approach makes it easy to set up scales, program chords, or see what's happening at a glance - the circular layout works great here.
The module operates in three modes. Scale Mode quantizes incoming notes to your chosen scale, with options for white-key mapping, nearest-note snapping, or simple filtering. Chord Mode lets you assign custom chord combinations to keys C1 through C9, useful for triggering complex harmonies or controlling multiple voices. Thru Mode passes MIDI through unchanged when you need to bypass processing entirely.
The SLØP1 fits standard MIDI workflows with configurable input/output channels and MIDI TRS connections. It includes practical features like MIDI panic for stuck notes, and a debug mode for testing. This is a great midi quantizer without too many bells and whistles — it does what it's supposed to do without any fuzz while being really quick and easy to work with!
