HFD from Rides In The Storm is a discrete high-pass filter that brings a wide and flexible range of filtering options into just 4HP
Its filter slope can be switched between 12, 18, and 24 dB, covering everything from gentle shaping to more precise, cutting results. The circuit can self-oscillate, track 1V/oct, and even serve as a crude oscillator when pushed.
Cutoff can be modulated by 4 different inputs, each with their own attenuator. You get the classic 1V/oct, XFM (exponential FM), LFM (linear FM) and finally an envelope input. Resonance comes with its own CV input, but without an attenuator. Resonance boost and compensation keep the response consistent — or let it drive harder when needed. The built-in clipper can add controlled overdrive right after the filter for some extra edge, should you need it.
Compact, detailed, and responsive, HFD fits easily into a wide range of patches and makes for a great companion to the SED-CSM Synthvoice, also from RITS.
