The A/B/C Expander adds gate outputs, CV control, and a sequential switch to the Discrete Map sequencer from New Systems Instruments.
Discrete Map introduces an exciting new sequencing concept! Create an 8-step sequence and select steps based on set threshold values and an incoming voltage that determines which step is played when it crosses those values. A/B/C takes this concept even further, adding key features that push it to new heights.
The expander allows each of the 8 steps to be assigned to one of three groups (A, B, or C). Each group has a CV input with an attenuator to dynamically control threshold values. Additionally, each group features a dedicated gate output, which triggers a gate whenever a step in that group is active. Finally, the switch section cycles through the groups, creating entirely new sequencing possibilities. The switch is bidirectional, and multiple expanders can be used simultaneously. More may even follow in the future!
