New Systems Instruments - Inertia
- Order number: 210510
- Depth: 25
NSI’s Inertia heavily expands the concept of classic Function Generators (Serge DUSG) and develops it into an Universal Movement Simulator aka VCO/VCF/AD(S)R/PLL/LFO.
With a name like Inertia and a section called “Momentum” the module makes some very direct allusions to Newtonian physics. There is no need to be intimidated by this theoretical overlay. Same as with their HSO Oscillator, here an abstract concept is broken down into a few, very playable parameters. Exploring the possibilities of Inertia is fast and fun and you will discover a wealth of functions – some of which can not be achieved with any other module (unless you use several utility modules):
Some of the features, which you/we probably have not suspected at first glance:
- oscillator with stable tracking and Skew
- LFO divider
- filter with controllable resonance
- envelope generator
- sine wave skew LFO
- phase locked loop (PLL)
- voltage controlled exponential slew limiter
- slew limiter with controllable overshoot and settling (like a Wogglebug)
- percussive sound generator
…& quite possibly a lot more!

New Systems Instruments interconnects as a creative connection between musician, music, technology and art and thus, also between modules, instruments and notes. "The system itself is our art, let's return to the times of the system being built."
