NANO's OCTA — Four Voices of 808 Spirit in Modular Form
OCTA delivers four analog TR-808 style drum voices in an 18hp module. The simple black and gold panel houses a surprisingly complete drum section with kick, snare, closed hat, and open hat - each with its own trigger in, audio out, and mute switch.
Each voice has just the controls you need: the kick has tone and tune, snare offers tone, snap and noise, while hats have decay and tone settings. The master section includes a tilt EQ and compressor that ties everything together.
Another nice touch is the Volume/Drive control on each channel. Past 50%, it introduces soft clipping with CV control, letting you add subtle distortion that can be modulated. The LED indicators show when you're hitting that sweet spot. There's also a side chain output — great for ducking other modules or triggering envelopes elsewhere in your system.
OCTA brings classic analog drum circuits into the modular world with exactly the right amount of control and flexibility - not more, not less and all clad in that classic TR color-scheme — looks nice right?
