Magerit - Metro

The Magerit Metro is a six-channel drum synthesizer with built-in sequencing. It comes with sixteen percussion algorithms which cover a wide range — kicks, snares, toms, cymbals, metals, bells, claps, claves, string generators, sweeps and an 8-bit chip voice. Better yet, each of the six channels can load whichever one you like, with tweakable sound parameters, individual volume and panning. A neat 1.3" OLED display + encoder handle navigation as well as provide info about each mode. It has two sequencer types which run simultaneously: a step sequencer with adjustable pattern lengths and a Euclidean sequencer for mathematically derived rhythms — six independent patterns in total, syncing to internal tempo or external clock.

What's really nice about Metro is how assignable everything is. Five of its front-panel pots and their CV inputs can be mapped to whatever parameter you want, and the three trigger inputs are also flexible — set them to fire instruments, accent hits, reset sequences or randomize parameters on the fly. The sixth encoder is reserved for effects — echo, reverb, overdrive and a lo-fi bitcrusher that drags resolution all the way down to a crunchy 5 bits. Everything auto-saves (phew...). This is a proper little drum brain for when you need sequenced percussion without half a case dedicated to it.
