Holocene Electronics SLIP & SLOPE — Voltage-Controlled AR/ASR Envelope Generator, Slew Limiter and Gate Delay
SLIP & SLOPE is a voltage-controlled envelope generator that doubles as a slew limiter, with adjustable Rise and Fall times and a continuously variable curve. In AR mode it generates attack-release envelopes, while ASR adds a sustain stage controlled by the incoming gate. The Curve knob moves between exponential, linear and logarithmic shapes, giving you control over how the modulation develops, from snappy transients to long, smooth movements.
Patch a stepped sequence into the Slew input and it becomes a glide processor for pitch or other CV signals. Feed it audio and you can even get filter-like or waveshaping effects. The End-of-Cycle output sends a trigger when the envelope finishes, allowing you to delay other events in your patch. There's also a Loop switch that connects this output back to the trigger input, turning the envelope into a cycling modulation source, with a dedicated Tune CV input for controlling its frequency. One interesting quirk: SLIP & SLOPE won't retrigger until the current cycle has finished, which can introduce useful rhythmic variations when fed a stream of triggers. A nice versatile little utility for shaping how things move in your patch!
