G-Storm Electro - 101-VCO r2
- Order number: 230422
- Depth: 36
The second revision r2 of the 101-VCO delivers the fantastic sound of G-Storm Electros VCO in less space...but with more features.
The 3340 Curtis chip gave many synthesizers their sound and so also the Roland 101. G-Storm packs this chip into a VCO module to combine this very sound with the flexibility of Eurorack.
The new second version of this oscillator needs only 12 hp instead of 14 and still expands its functionality. Improved tuning stability, easier tuning through fine and coarse tuning, as well as individual outputs for all waveforms, noise, sub and a mix output. The much missed linear FM option was also added. Finally and in two varieties (Hi/Lo)..
The 101-VCO impresses with powerful bass and a noise source full of character. The sub-output provides a selectable sub-octave, which already led the original 101 to become the go-to machine for basslines. The noise is wonderful for layering over the oscillator, or for powerful hi-hats.
A handy feature of the 101-VCO is the built-in mixer. Here you can mix the pulse, sawtooth and triangle waves with the suboctave and noise. This mix can then be tapped at the mix output, giving you fat sounds with complex harmonics.
Features:
- Eurorack VCO based on the 3340 Curtis chip
- Pulse wave with PWM, sawtooth, triangle wave, as well as sub-oscillator and noise
- Integrated mixer for all waves
- Individual outputs for all waves
- High tuning stability
- Linear FM: LO/HI
