Expert Sleepers' NTX-8CV — Ultra Compact USB Host, Audio/CV Interface and NT Expander, All in One
The NTX-8CV is a small Expert Sleepers output module that wears three hats. It works as a USB MIDI-to-CV converter, as an 8-channel DC-coupled USB audio/CV output interface, and as a dedicated output expander for the disting NT. The MIDI/CV side is built on the same circuit lineage as the FH-2, packed into a slim 4HP panel — eight 3.5mm output jacks and a USB-C port, that's the whole front.
The dual-role USB-C connector is what makes this so flexible. As a device, the NTX-8CV appears to a computer or tablet as a class-compliant USB MIDI interface, or as an 8-output audio interface — meaning software like Silent Way, Bitwig's CV Tools, or any DAW addressing audio outs becomes a CV source (the outputs are DC-coupled, so steady control voltages travel cleanly). Switched into host mode, you can plug a USB MIDI controller straight in — no computer needed. For disting NT owners, the NTX-8CV connects via ribbon cable and adds 8 more output jacks with identical specs to those on the NT itself. Multiple units can be daisy-chained for up to a whopping 64 extra outputs.
This is a handy module for anyone shuttling signals between USB and CV, and a natural addition for disting NT owners.
