Erica Synths - Black K-Phaser
- Order number: 210837
- Depth: 35
An Erica-Synths tribute to the genre-defining "Krautrock" phaser by Gert Schulte with significantly expanded modulation possibilities.
Often called "KS"- or "TD"-Phaser inreference to Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze, the sound of the "Compact A Phaser" influenced the "krauty" electronics of the early seventies almost as much as the synthesizers used by these influential artists at that time.
The circuit of the original is based on eight all-pass filters with photoresistor control and, in contrast to the original approach, features a significant increase in sonic flexibility. The number of filter stages in the resonance path can be controlled via a dip switch, while an attenuator takes care of weird feedback artifacts. The switchable SPREAD mode provides all-pass filter detuning sending the sound ultimately into the orbit. A built-in VC LFO expands the modulation options even further and can serve as independent modulation sources within your Eurorack.
- Eight allpass filters with photoresistor control
- Classic and Spread (filter detuning) modes
- Resonance attenuator
- Selectable resonance path
- Built-in VC LFO with output
- Wet signal output

Erica Synths from Riga (Latvia) started with a whole line of Polivoks module clones about a decade ago. A lot has happened ever since and they have now one of the largest module portfolios in the eurorack world, all featuring their signature black front plates.
