Volcan is a small yet fully featured analog dual function generator from Eowave
The module offers two identical function generators in only 10 HP. Volcan can be a VCO, LFO, slew limiter, AD or ASR envelope generator. The typical set of controls can be found, everything is easy and clearly laid out. There are faders for Rise and Fall, a knob to adjust the shape, manual trigger buttons and control voltage inputs for the Rise and Fall times. Volcan provides you with a unipolar (positive) signal in during “one-shot” operation, but switches to bipolar output signals as soon as you activate the looping.
You can use the Trig inputs for immediate envelope generation (or resetting the function generators – during the Fall phase – when they are looping. Or use the Slew input to process and shape external signals, for example Gates. For this you have separate controls to adjust the slew on the attack and decay. Besides the regular outputs you also get EOC outputs, which send out a trigger whenever each function generator completed one cycle. This might be useful as a Gate delay or to chain the two function generators for more complex envelope shapes. For this purpose, you use the Rise and Fall controls, with which you can adjust the course of the rising and falling slope.
