Elta Music - TSC-12 (black)

The TSC-12 brings the wonderfully hands-on keyboard of Elta Music's Solar 42 ambient synthesizer into the Eurorack world. Its twelve capacitive touch plates make it an expressive controller for playing melodies, triggering sequences and generating modulation, all without a conventional keyboard in sight. The plates respond to how much of your finger touches their surface rather than physical pressure, giving you continuous control over CV as you play. Three keyboard configurations — Single, Twin and Split — let you use all twelve plates together or divide them into two six-note sections. In Split mode, each side can even run independently with different settings, allowing you to play an arpeggio on one half and a melody on the other.

Beyond just manual playing, the TSC-12 includes an arpeggiator and a step sequencer with patterns of up to 16 steps. Both offer four playback directions and can follow an internal or external clock. There's also portamento for sliding between notes, a vibrato LFO, and a quantizer with 19 selectable scales and root notes. Individual notes can even be tuned for microtonal playing. Alongside the pitch and dual gate outputs, a configurable CV output provides continuous touch control, ASR, AD and looping AD envelopes, or random voltages. In Twin and Split modes, this output becomes a second pitch output for the right-hand section. Four presets store your configurations for quick recall, making it easy to switch between different playing styles. All in all, the TSC-12 offers a lovely way to bring more expressive touch control and hands-on sequencing to your rack.

Important: The TSC-12 is sensitive to power-supply grounding and may not work correctly with some Eurorack power supplies. Elta Music recommends Mean Well medical-series adapters or other appropriately grounded power supplies.
