Elektron Analog Heat +FX is an analog stereo distortion box with eight different circuits, 8 digital effects and a heavy dose of additional functions.
In addition to the different "characters", the Elektron offspring also comes up with a multimode filter, a 2-band equalizer, envelope follower and a fast LFO. Compared to its predecessor, eight digital effects from various Elektron devices have also been added. In addition, the device has a USB port, can thus also function as an audio interface and thus allows the integration as a convenient editable plug-in within a DAW.
Whether "warming up" or "destroying" are the application goal, the distortion from Gothenburg can come up with a wide variety of algorithms that cover all possible application scenarios. Among other things, ideas such as light signal coloration when overdriving a mixer ("Clean Boost"), tape or tape saturation ("Enhancement") or circuits suitable for 303 or guitar distortion ("Classic Dist") are emulated. Via the multimode filter, envelope follower and the LFO a multitude of application scenarios beyond saturation & co. can be found. For example, it is possible to realize compressor-like applications, frequency-selective saturation or stereophaser effects. Of course, the Analog Heat +FX is not only for studio use, but also great in live situations and a helpful companion to give your sound that certain "something".. The digital effects range from characterful delay and reverb algorithms to lofi glitchiness, nostalgic tape warble and modern dynamics tools.
On the hardware side, a new 128x64 pixel OLED display has been implemented which is now able to visualize the sound parameters even more effectively. The MIDI trio (In/Out/Thru) features additional DIN sync functionality, while the two control inputs can be optionally configured for CV, expression pedal or footswitch applications. USB 2.0 connectivity allows use as an audio interface, USB MIDI interface and ensures Overbridge functionality within your DAW.
