AtoV’s Faderpunk: 16-Channel Modulation Powerhouse for Modular, MIDI, and Hybrid Rigs
AtoV took the spirit of the beloved 16n controller and evolved it into something bigger, smarter, and infinitely more capable — Faderpunk — a full-blown modulation powerhouse for modular, MIDI, and hybrid setups. Not a reboot, but a fully realized sequel. Just like its predecessor, Faderpunk can live inside your Eurorack or roam free as a standalone unit on your desktop, happily communicating with the rest of your gear over MIDI, CV, or USB. It's a control surface, modulation brain, and creativity multiplier all in one.
At first glance, it’s clean and minimal — 16 slick ALPS faders lined up like runway lights, each with a glowing RGB button and its own configurable CV jack. But behind that elegant front panel lies an entire toolbox of digital modulation “apps” - from envelopes and Turing machines to sequencers, quantizers, and rhythm generators. Each app can occupy one channel or several, letting you sculpt a bespoke modulation hub exactly to your taste. If you’ve ever wanted your controller to do exactly what you imagined, this one just might.
AtoV designed Faderpunk to grow with its users. Thanks to the open-source firmware and developer-friendly API, you’re free to build and upload your own creations, tweak existing apps, or simply sit back and see what the community comes up with. The nicely designed web-based configurator makes the whole setup of your modulator apps a breeze.
It speaks fluent CV and MIDI in both directions, but Faderpunk is not only intended for the Eurorack nerds out there. As mentioned before, it can be used for a myriad of different applications. For instance, it would make for a terrific addition in case you want to breathe new life into your dusty old polysynth.
And yes, because AtoV likes to keep things fun, Faderpunk ships with a set of sticker sheets so you can label and personalize your layout, so you remember what’s what. Add some color, build your workflow, and join the growing community of users who are already hacking, sharing, and expanding what Faderpunk can do.
To really understand what it’s capable of, explore AtoV’s website and take a look at their collection of modulators already available. It’s a device that will keep expanding as the community does — and that’s part of its charm!
