Alright Devices T-Wrex is an analog bitcrusher and decimator.
T-Wrex is composed of two separate units: Stomp is a bitcrusher and Chomp is a decimator. The effect is adjustable from subtle to rumbling growling sound monsters. The CV controllable wet/dry section helps to find the right balance!
At the heart of each section is a high-speed, low-leakage analog sample & hold circuit. The bitcrusher's sync input is ORed with the internal S&H trigger, which steps the output voltage. Mult-In to SYNC, forces a static waveform. Using another VCO creates the bitcrusher equivalent of hard sync!
The decimator's internal analog VCO controls the sample rate but is overridden when patching your own signals into the sample input. Using complex waveforms refines the decimating towards "spicy", using sub-audio rate signals results in a decent portion of sample & hold!
An attenuator at each CV input provides convenient "patchability". Tearing open the chomp attenuator fully counterclockwise tracks the control voltage of the internal decimator VCO with 1 V/octave!
