Pique is a modulation tool and drum module inspired by the Mutable Instruments Peaks, but only half the size of the original.
Pique converts incoming trigger signals on two channels into ADSR envelopes, synchronized LFOs, tap-tempo LFOs or drum sounds. The Dead Man's Catch firmware allows you to access 22 modes instead of the original four.
The modes at a glance:
Basic (original modes)
- Tap LFO
- Bass/Snare Drums
- Double attack envelope
- Repeating attack envelope
- Looping envelope
- Randomized AD envelope
- Bouncing ball envelope
- Frequency-modulated LFO (folded sine FM)
- Frequency-modulated LFO (random FM)
- Varying wave shape LFO ( folded sine WS mod)
- Varying wave shape LFO ( random WS mod)
- Phase-locked loop oscillator
- Alternative TAP Mini-sequencer
- Pulse Shaper
- Pulse Randomizer
- Turing Machine
- FM drum Generators
- Randomized bass and snare drum generator
- Randomized hihat
Split can synchronize the channels. If the LED is off, both channels are controlled simultaneously by the same pots. This is good for duophonic patches, where you need e.g. two envelopes with identical settings. In the LFO modes, the outputs are out of phase.
If the LED is on, we are in split mode. The upper two pots control the most important parameters of the first channel and the lower two pots control those of the second channel. Other parameters remain in "neutral" settings.
Press the button for a second and you're in expert mode, where you can switch between each channel and set each parameter individually.
Pique is based on the design of Émelie Gillet. The Jakplugg PCB is built in.
