WMD - Javelin

Javelin is an ADSR envelope with integrated VCA and some special features that make it a very expressive sound shaping tool.

Javelin is a very feature-rich ADSR module that benefits from WMD's many years of experience as manufacturers, developers and as live performers. Not only is it an ADSR, but it also offers a VCA, which is quite useful. The 6HP wide module offers a lot of functionality in a small space, and can be customized in many ways to meet specific needs.

The time range for the ADSR parameters, the output level and the accent ranges can be set exactly the way the module controlled by Javelin would expect. Javelin can also be switched to looping to create a complex LFO. Another not-so-common feature is Javelin's ability to add a short hold at the top of the attack time to add more punch.

The behavior of the Accent is highly original.  When multiple gates follow each other while the Accent input is High, the envelope's signal strength increases with each gate, so that the signal being controlled is emphasized a little more with each successive gate. When controlling a filter, this creates a sound that builds tension, adding another layer of expression. However, this feature can also be disabled if a fixed Accent level is needed. In addition, Accent can be controlled with any control voltage.

The Reset input can be used to stop the generated envelope to create more varied sound progressions. With longer envelopes, you can send a different gate pattern to the reset input, or control attack and release by control voltage to create a varied rhythm.
