Crater is a hybrid kick module, meaning it utilizes analog as well as digital components to generate sound. In terms of operation, the circuit is true to classic bass drum voices. The pitch can be altered via a potentiometer of the same name. Additionally, there is a pitch envelope which can be tweaked in two parameters (Pitch Decay, Amount). A second envelope makes it possible to shape the sound as a whole. It is editable in two parameters as well (Decay, Sustain). Using the Click Level parameter, an attack noise can be added. Its sound can be altered via the Click Timbre and Click Decay parameters. On top of that, there is a clipping stage with three settings. Several parameters are voltage-controllable. Another feature worth mentioning: Crater can be played tonally via a 1V/Oct input.
