WMD C4RBN (pronounced Carbon) is an SVT filter with 2-pole and 4-pole options that covers a wide sound spectrum from clean to heavy.
C4RBN builds on WMD's SVT filter expertise with the addition of a newly developed saturation stage and the output wavefolder of the WMD Synchrodyne filter.
Rotary controls adjust filter frequency and resonance (self-oscillation starting at 3 o'clock), the FM control allows for control of the inverting attenuator at the FM input. The push buttons change the filter characteristics of the 4-pole option between lowpass, bandpass and highpass (left side) or switch between output wavefolder and four different levels of input saturation (right side). The outputs for the first of the two serial 2-pole filters can be accessed individually via LP/BP/HP while the 4-pole output provides a switchable frequency response. Further CV options are available for resonance, V/Oct (classic keytracking for filter cutoff), Ping (for vactrol-like characteristics), FM and saturation. A sonically appealing building block for timbral flexibility in your modular system, both live and in the studio.
Features:
- State Variable Filter with 2-/4-pole option
- Single outputs for 2-pole LP/BP/HP or combined 4-pole output with switchable frequency response
- Inverting attenuator for FM allows negative and positive CV control of cutoff frequency
- Input saturation with different intensities and CV input for fine control
- Ping circuit for fast decay envelope to emulate Vactrol-like response
- Resonance up to self-oscillation
- Temperature compensated 1V/Oct tracking
