Tubbutec - Brainstep Controller

- Order number: 251117
The controller for Tubbutec’s powerful Brainstep sequencer provides direct access to the modulation parameters of all four tracks.
The Brainstep sequencer has four tracks, each of which, in addition to pitch outputs, also features two CV outputs. These outputs (CV-A & CV-B) can send any kind of control signal, including gates, LFOs, or envelopes. These signals can be configured in the Brainstep’s menu, which works well but isn’t as immediate as a “one-knob-per-function” interface.
This is where the Brainstep Controller comes into play. It provides direct access to the mixer, LFOs, envelopes, and glide settings of channels A and B, across all four sequencer tracks! The buttons on the right allow for selecting one or multiple channels at once, which can then be adjusted instantly. Many parameters offer visual feedback via LEDs, indicating whether they are affecting one or multiple channels. The controller transmits its data via TRS-MIDI to the Brainstep, but this does not prevent Brainstep to receive other MIDI-Data!
The Brainstep Controller is the perfect complement to its sequencer sibling, forming a powerful duo of complexity and immediacy.
Features:
- Expander for the Brainstep sequencer
- Individual parameters for mixer, LFOs, envelopes, and glide on all four channels
- LEDs visualize active parameters
- Can control multiple channels simultaneously
- MIDI-TRS connection to Brainstep

Brainstep Controller @Tubbutec
Berlin-based Tobias Münzer is the mastermind behind Tubbutec, who not only provides retro-fits for vintage synths (Roland Juno-6, SH-101, etc.), but impressed with his microtonal modular multitool µTune, which among other gazillion functions is capable of reading and writing Scala .scl files.
