Threetom Modular’s Mixing Flask - 3 channel mixer with added grit.
Utility mixers can be seen as the unsung heroes of your rack, always there to keep the signals in check. One such recent contribution comes from Threetom Modular. The Mixing Flask is a nice little 4HP utility mixer with a chemical-lab-inspired look. It offers three DC-coupled input channels which you can push up to +6dB of gain. That means you can match signal levels from both weaker and louder sources and keep things even. This ensures your mix-bus output is around nominal eurorack levels (±5V/10Vpp).
The mix output features a limiting circuit inspired by its cousin Doppio (also from Threetom Modular). Here you will find — hard clipping, soft/hard clipping, and soft-limiting—enabling you to tailor the final output with just the right amount of grit. Additionally, behind the colorful faceplate you’ll find a set of three-stage monitor lights. These not only show the polarity of incoming signals, but also indicate when the signals reach nominal levels or begin to hard clip.
For its price point, the mixing flask does a nice job as a utility mixer, the added selectable soft-clipping is a nice extra!
Features:
- Three DC-coupled input channels with +6dB gain
- Three selectable soft-clipping modes: Linear, Limit, and Drive
- Split-polarity indicator lights for signal monitoring
- Prevents harsh hard clipping with soft-clipping options
- Compact 4HP utility mixer
- Chemical-lab inspired design
