System 80 - 810 Mk2
- Order number: 230200
The System 80 810 MK2 combines some excellent influences! It is the foundation for an all analog subtractive synthesizer voice based on classic System 700, System 100 and Jupiter 8 designs.
The module basically contains the entire audio path of a subtractive synthesizer - VCO, VCF and VCA. All with a distinct Roland vibe and all you have to do is add your favorite envelopes and modulation sources and you're ready to go.
The VCO section has everything to offer that you would expect from an analog oscillator. The discrete design is temperature compensated and can track about 7-8 octaves. There is a sync input, an octave switch (improved design), a PWM CV input and a sub oscillator for more powerful timbres.
The very nice VCF is a cascaded OTA design with 12- or 24-dB response - based on classic Roland circuits. It can self-oscillate, track 1 V/octave and the resonance is voltage controllable!
The VCA is a simple three-input OTA design with selectable exponential or linear characteristics.
The module now comes with a steel cover on the back to protect and shield the electronics. Overall, the module is a very well made core for a subtractive synthesizer voice with vintage sound without having to worry about the things that happen with old electronic circuits.
