Squarp XP32 — 32 New Pathways for Your Hermod+
The Squarp XP32 is a powerful expansion module that adds 32 assignable CV/Gate outputs to your Hermod+ sequencer. While the Hermod+ already offers impressive sequencing capabilities with its 16 tracks, this expander quadruples your physical output connections (!!!!), transforming your sequencer into a far more capable modular control hub.
Connection couldn't be simpler - just attach the included ribbon cable to the back of your Hermod+, and you're ready to go. No configuration needed, no menu diving, no headaches. The Hermod+ automatically recognizes the expander and makes all 32 outputs immediately available for your patching pleasure. What impressed us immediately about the XP32 is its signal quality. Squarp didn't cut corners here - each of the 32 outputs is powered by its own dedicated 16-bit industrial-grade DAC. This means really well executed precision for all your CV signals, from pitch sequences that stay reliably in tune to subtle, complex modulations that behave exactly as originally intended.
Every output jack can be individually configured as either a Gate (for triggering events, notes, or clock signals) or as a CV (for controlling pitch, velocity, aftertouch, or any other parameter). With a generous voltage range spanning from -10V to +10V, the XP32 plays nicely with modules from almost any manufacturer.
The 32 signal LEDs deserve their own mention - they're driven by a fully analog current-control circuit. This design choice thereby eliminates any potential digital noise from bleeding into your precious CV signals. It's this kind of attention to detail that makes the difference in a crowded modular cabinet. While the Hermod+'s original 8 CV/Gate tracks remain untouched, the XP32's additional outputs are internally mapped to the Hermod+'s MIDI tracks. This implementation means you can expand your system without disrupting your established workflow.
For more complex patches, generative systems, or live performance setups where you need to control numerous modules simultaneously, the XP32 removes a major bottleneck. Want to sequence 16 separate voices with independent modulation for each? Now you can. Need to transform your Hermod+ into a comprehensive MIDI/USB-to-CV interface? The XP32 now makes it possible. The XP32 is a no-nonsense, high-quality module that dramatically extends what's possible with your Hermod+ sequencer. It's built with high quality components, integrates seamlessly, and opens up new creative possibilities without adding any unnecessary complexity — this is an expander done right and should delivers as promised!
