Rabid Elephant - Portal Drum

Comprehensively equipped, Portal Drum by Rabid Elephant is a high-quality drum module that has countless sweet spots, for kicks, basslines and percussive elements.

Portal Drum is a feature-laden designer tool for drums in perfect tuning, and represents an evolution of the already powerful prototype presented at Superbooth 2019. The tricore VCO (tracks over six octaves) has been reworked as well as the transient section, gap filters and the highpass filter section - now with included tracking. Newly added are FM options that expand the sonic potential beyond the 808/909 sounds and enable percussive workouts with a high fun factor.The Saturation/Wavefolding mode adds "clicks & ticks" and non-linearities, while the Punch switch provides body in the lower frequency range. The Dynacontrol system with sample-and-hold functionality at each(!) input allows to modulate up to six parameters with only one patch cable, dedicated attenuators for each input increase Portal Drum's flexibility even further.

The new Meow circuit not only makes the hearts of cat lovers beat faster, but can also change the dynamics of the waveform over time (similar to a compressor) in order to make the signal sit better in the mix. Since the parameters of the pitch sweep (FM), transient and amp envelope influence each other depending on the setting, the module can create characterful kicks, toms, rimshots, woodblocks, claves etc. - so essentially the whole range of percussion sounds.
