Patching Panda - Patterns

Patterns gives you four channels of sequencing in the mere space of just 8HP. Each track supports up to 64 steps spread across four pages. The 4x4 button grid handles step programming and doubles as your visual feedback - active steps light up as the sequence runs. What separates this from basic step sequencers is the pattern system: 16 slots that store complete sequences, accessible through the dedicated Pattern button or via CV input. Switch patterns manually for arranged sections or feed it modulation for more unpredictable results.

The secondary functions cover the essentials for shaping rhythms beyond straight 16th notes. Each channel gets its own clock division, steps can be assigned probability values, and there's global swing control with precise two-digit entry. The chain mode strings patterns together automatically, useful for building longer structures without manual intervention. There's also a recording mode that captures your button presses in real-time to the grid, while copy/paste make it easy to create variations.

With 16 save slots, you can build up a library of patterns and recall them whenever needed - handy when you want to return to specific rhythmic ideas mid-patch. Patterns hits that sweet spot where you spend more time making sequences than figuring out how to make them — this is what "flow" feels like.
