Olivella Modular - Dúplex

Olivella Modular introduces Dúplex a dual low-pass gate that uses no vactrols but is tuned to sound like the real thing.

The Dúplex features some smart and welcome additions compared to many other dual low-pass gates. You get manual and voltage control over decay and level and both CV-inputs equipped with attenuverters. A specialized PING input transforms any input signal to a suitable trigger for the internal envelope generator. The envelope itself can be used with other modules through the dedicated output socket. Switcheble response types let you choose between -6dB/oct or -12dB/oct filtering for both channels individually. The attack of the sound can also be variable. The click parameter can soften initial transient if you wish so. Additionally Dúplex features full DC coupling, making it suitable for use with both CV and audio signals.

Dúplex is not at all the first dual low-pass gate, but it is one of the more versatile!

Dual low-pass gates are very popular and have been around for quite some time now. Olivella Modular now chose a way of constructing a low-pass gate that we see more often these days – without actual vactrols! The delicate components tend to be very difficult to work with. They have wide production tolerance which is why ‘no two low-pass gates sound the same’. By modeling the vactrol with the reliable choice of a solid-state approach Olivella Modules makes sure all their modules sound the same.
