Neumann NDH 30 — Portable Reference Sound, Open-Back
The NDH 30 is Neumann's open-back headphone, developed to deliver the tonal character of their KH monitor setup in portable form. The 38mm dynamic drivers benefit from the open-back design's natural airflow, which tends to favor transient response and a more spacious presentation. Neumann added frequency-selective absorbers to tame the high-frequency peaks that often plague headphones — the result is a flatter, more honest response.
Build quality follows the NDH 20: spring steel headband, aluminum earcup covers, circumaural memory foam pads. At 120 ohms impedance, they're easy enough to drive from most headphone amplifiers. The included cable is internally balanced to reduce crosstalk, connecting via a locking 2.5mm TRRS plug on the right earcup. Frequency response spans 12Hz–34kHz with distortion rated below 0.03% at 100dB SPL. A solid choice for mixing, mastering, and detailed editing work. Foldable design with cloth carry bag included. Available in silver or black.
