Nekyia Circuits’ Ozark — CV/Trigger Polyrhythm Generator with a 3/4/5-Step Analog Sequencer
Nekyia’s Ozark is a compact CV and trigger generator built for quick polyrhythmic patterns. It combines an analog step sequencer with an internal/external clock, two clock dividers and an XOR/OR logic section. The basic idea is simple: set a short 3, 4, or 5-step CV pattern, then let the dividers and logic decide when the sequence advances.
A lot of the fun lies in the timing relationships — Divider I and Divider II each have their own 5 V trigger outputs, and their XOR/OR result can advance the CV sequencer or go out to trigger other parts of the patch. The Advance input can add external triggers to that logic stream, or take over completely when the logic switch is in its centre position, letting the sequencer and divider/logic section run independently.
The CV sequencer itself is unquantized, so pitch patterns can fall into odd intervals rather than tidy scale steps. That same 0–5 V output is just as happy modulating filter cutoff, oscillator timbre, wavefolding or anything else that benefits from stepped movement. Ozark is great for coaxing interlocking, evolving rhythms out of a single clock without giving up much rack space — and it pairs especially well with Nekyia’s own Ceremony for a small, self-contained voice.
